The Rise of Woodland Weddings are becoming a Major Trend.
28th November, 2023
During the summer this year, shoot coordinators Marina Moore and Victoria Taylor asked if I would like to come along for this whimsical woodland shoot as their Videographer. They took the inspiration from the poem The Owl and the Pussycat. The colour board of this beautiful styled shoot was rustic and natural with hints of copper, black and gold which reflect the groom's suit and the bride's alternative gold dress. The shoot was held at the new Woodland venue, Barnfield Weddings nestled in the village of Sible Hedingham, Essex.
This shoot was such a delight to film, and the talented team of suppliers involved created this beautiful woodland wedding inspiration, suppliers featured in this shoot are listed below. So if you're thinking of a woodland wedding let's dip in and see if we can provide you with some inspiration.
1. PICKING YOUR DREAM VENUE
So you're engaged, you've started planning your wedding, and now you have decided on the great outdoors? A woodland wedding venue creates an enchanting and beautiful setting. There's nothing more natural and romantic about saying 'I DO' among nature's woodland. This is a magical way to celebrate your love of nature, which is sure to be a unique experience for you and your guests. Trees create a romantic atmosphere, along with natural backdrop will make your outdoor ceremony unforgettable. So it comes as no surprise that a growing number of couples are seeking weddings in the open plains of England's rolling hills, natural woodland, lakes, fields etc.
2. EMBRACE NATURE
The advantages of an outdoor wedding is the opportunity to incorporate natural elements into your decor and design. Flowers, Foliage, Food etc, all reflecting on your style. When planning your theme be mindful and embrace the beauty of your natural surroundings and incorporate the outdoor elements in to your styling. This gorgeous cake from RTcakes reflects all the natural colours.
More and more people are thinking of a more eco-friendly wedding, try to focus on recyclable, sustainable materials or reusable items like glassware, bunting, books, and vintage candlesticks, some of which you can hired. Give your guests a hint about your theme by sending woodland type stationery, think invitations with fallen leaves, acorns, trees or maybe even a woodland creature. This delightful Woodland Owl stationary is by Rose and Grace Designs. Marina from Sugar Lump Lane crafted this beautiful show-stopping Mediterranean-style sharing platter.
3. CAPTURING MAGICAL MOMENTS
For me, there is a difference between a videographer and a storyteller, It takes a special skill and sense of artistry to be able to not just capture a wedding but to capture the intimate moments, filming from the inside, rather than as an onlooker allows me to create an authentic wedding film with a personal touch that represents who you really are. Natural interactions between you and your guests, I love inconspicuous moments, subtle glances and a touch that no-one in the world notices!
